A special election will be held on Tuesday May 5th to fill the unexpired term for the Office of the Mayor. Nomination papers will be available at the City Clerk’s office starting Monday January 27th. Candidates need the certified signatures of 50 registered Gardner voters to qualify as a candidate for nomination. [Candidates are urged to obtain more than 50 signatures as some may be disqualified because they are duplicates, illegible, the signer is not a registered voter in Gardner, or the signer is not registered at the address written on the papers]. Nomination Papers must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
A Preliminary Election will be held Tuesday, April 7th if necessary - meaning if there are more than 2 candidates certified for nomination.
