Parking & Civil Enforcement

The Parking Clerk is an appointee of the Mayor, with the approval of the City Council. The duties of the parking clerk are outlined in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 90, section 20A 1/2 - 20E. The Parking Clerk maintains and records all parking violations, applies payments and late fees, reports overdue violations to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, issues registry releases, hears appeals and holds hearings.

The Civil Enforcement Office maintains and records all other civil violation fees and penalties, applies payments and late fees, performs collection activities, and accepts appeals in accordance with applicable laws and statutes.

The office is fully staffed at this time and there is someone available to answer questions or concerns.  Please, contact us via email or telephone to schedule an appointment or discuss any issue.  Parking violation appeals should be submitted via the "Appeal a Parking Violation" link to the left.

Payments may be made at the Office of the Treasurer/Collector or via the Official Dropbox located at the front of City Hall.
