National Grid has informed us that Gardner is in the "jackpot" for outages in the Worcester County area. They are working as diligently and as quickly as possible but there are many issues that are contributing to the power outages. Trees and poles are down, wires are down, circuits are out. Transmission lines have been affected. Helicopters are used to identify which lines are down and due to the high winds, this was impossible to accomplish. There is no definitive time line, at this time, as to when power will be restored. We will try to keep you updated as we receive information from National Grid. Crews are working around the clock to restore service to customers who lost power as a result of yesterday's storm. Damage assessment and restoration efforts are underway. The safety of National Grid employees and the public is our number one priority. Assume that downed wires are live wires and stay away! Downed wires should be reported immediately to National Grid or to your local authorities. Thank you for your patience as we work to safely restore power.
