One of the major drives this year with Gardner Public Schools is culture and relationships. We want to get to know you as individuals, because we feel that relationships with parents, their children, and their children’s teachers, builds trust and respect.
Through Title III and Title IV grant funding, we are participating this year in "Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHVs)". District teachers were trained this past week by PTHV staff in "building relationships with parents and students". You may be getting a “visit” call from your child’s teacher. This “visit” is an opportunity to get to know each other, and to learn about your children’s hopes and dreams.
It has been proven that home visits lead to increased parent involvement, increased student achievement, attendance, and self-worth, as well as increased teacher satisfaction. These improvements contribute to overall student success.
